Instrumentation and Calibration
ACCURACY IS THE KEY TO EFFICIENCY
If your process has been designed to run at optimum efficiency, surely to achieve that efficiency you need to have accurate process measurement, and devices doing exactly what you want them to do.
In many facilities, process measurement, correct installation of instrumentation, accurate parameter definition and tuned P&ID control are paramount in plant life and operational cost. Take a combined cycle gas turbine operated power station for example; accurate measurement of lube oil flow, temperature and level can mean the difference between an operational plant and a major re-build. The tolerances can be that tight that a minor error in a critical device can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to rectify. Hence such critical devices often have dual or triple redundancy devices as a safety control.
Many asset owners these days rely too heavily on factory calibration of devices, much to their assets detriment. They may have been fine when installed new from the factory, however many devices sit in storage or laydown yards for months prior to installation. This exposes them to the extremities of Australia's weather patterns. They are then potentially worse off when they are installed, with vibration, direct sunlight, internal electronic pressure build ups etc all contributing to how accurately the device is maintained in the long term.
Slade Industries was born through instrumentation and calibration at the Port Stanvac Oil refinery over 35 years ago. We cut our teeth on calibrating pressure vessel level transmitters with integral wet legs, we know how to hone and bed in a semi-balanced double seated globe valve used for feed water flow to a boiler. The point is, if you want precise and reliable service work for your shutdown or turnaround, you should look no further than Slade Industries for all your calibration and instrumentation servicing needs.
Slade Industries owns hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of calibration equipment; including Beamex, Fluke, Emerson and many more. What's more, we know how to achieve the best results out of what we have.
Please contact us to find out what we can do for you to make your next shutdown, turnaround or outage an 'accurate' success.
